There Are Many Characters!
Game Sections
To start a robot, players must register an account with RoboWars. Players then proceed by equiping weapon(s)/armor to their robot and then proceeding to the Battle Arena. Here, players can find a list of the current robots (other users) in the game, and then attack them. Each attack earns them Experience, or EXP, which is used to level their robot. As the robot levels, players can equip bigger and better weapons and armors, and cause more destruction among the community.
Bunker
The Bunker is the first page you see when you log into RoboWars, it is the center of your RoboWars Experience. Displayed in the bunker is an image of your Robot, pictures of any Weapon or Armor you have equipped. Most importantly the Bunker is where, at 4pm RWT every day, the Question Of The Day and In Game Daily Poll options become available and at 12 midnight RWT the Upgrade Chip and Vote for RoboWars options are made available for you to use and take advantage of.
Also at the Bunker above your avatar and game stats the latest News and Updates in RoboWars are displayed. RoboWars is in constant evolution and regular updates and news items will be displayed in your Bunker for your convenience.
The Armory
The Armory is the location within RoboWars where all Robots go to equip items, you can also view your Gem Inventory and Object Inventory from the Armory. Displayed in the Armory are the 3 item slots, left weapon slot, right weapon slot and armor slot. You can only have 1 item per slot and weapons can only go in either the left or right weapon slot, and armors can only go in the single armor slot. To equip/un-equip an item, just click on the image of that item.
Also, when hovering your cursor over the item in your inventory, you can see the value of that item that you would received at the Pawn Shop. Also displayed in the hovering message is the item name, attack/defense range, and the battery power drain.
Battle Arena
Like it's name suggests, the Battle Arena is where you go to find other Robots to battle. You will notice when you go to the battle Arena a list of different Robot Names, there Level, Health, Rank and Squad. All the people on this first list you can freely attack, as they are within your Battle Range.
Your battle range includes anyone above you in level, as well as anyone within 15 levels below your current level when your below level 100 and 30 levels below you when you are over level 100. There is a special except for those above level 170, whilst they can still attack anyone within the normal Battle Range limits, once you are above level 375, you can attack anyone also above level 375. Example: If you are level 500, you can attack someone level 440, although they are 60 levels below you, and out of the normal Battle Range limits, because they are above level 375 they can be attacked.
The Level of your opponent also plays a big part in who you choose to battle. It is common belief that someone below you in level is weaker than you, and someone above you in level is stronger. This is not always the case, especially if you are either above level 100, do not have the strongest weapons for your level, or if you or your opponent are not fully equipped with both weapons and armor.
Also listed in the Battle Arena is a column for Squad, this is another thing you have to take note of before battling. A red flag will be next to any member that is currently in a squad. By hovering your cursor over the flag, you can see what squad they are in. It is often not a good idea to attack someone of your own squad, unless you have permission. Also it is a good idea to check if your squad has any rival Squads that they want you to attack, because if it comes down to a choice between 2 people to attack, and one is in a rival squad of your own, the decision can be that much easier.
In the battle arena, the donation status icon is also displayed next to the squad icon. Be careful when picking these players to battle, because they most likely have the donation weapons and armor equipped.
If you don't find an opponent first up when you go to the Battle Arena, you can do an advanced search for them. In the Battle Arena, towards the bottom of the page, there are 2 options to search for players. Either by level, or an exact name search. Each is used for its own differet purposes.
Battling is easy, once you have chosen an opponent, click there name in the battle Arena. A new page will come up with a profile of your opponent towards the bottom is an option to attack this opponent. There is a drop box with a list of number, 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. These numbers represent how many times you want to battle this opponent. If you are unusure what the result will be, choose option 1, and then hit "Go". If you are confident of a win, increase the number and then hit "Go". After you click go a summary page will come up, listing the results of the battles, Experience earned, health lost, Scraps earned, and the effect your Weapons and Armor had on the battle. From here you can choose to battle more, or you can cut your losses and leave.
Mechanic
The role of the Mechanic is simple, yet extremely important to all members of RoboWars. For a fee the Mechanic will repair your Robot, if for any reason it has suffered damage.
The fee for the mechanic is based on the amount of health you will be repairing. The more damage done to your robot, the higher the fee. You can pay for this out of your own pocket, or if you are a member of a Squad that has Mechanic Coverage, they will pay it for you.
Additionally if your Robot is Disabled you incur the additional cost of 250 Scraps, which you must pay to be repaired. Your Squad cannot pay the 250 Scraps, as Squads cannot hold Scraps, so it is an expense you must pay. However your Squad will still pay for the Cash expense.
A cost of 1 Diamond and the regular Cash expenses, will have to be paid if you are Destroyed and want to be healed. Same as when you are disabled, you must pay the 1 Diamond but your Squad may pay for the rest. For the same reason, Squads cannot hold Diamonds.
Training
Every Robot has 3 core statistics, Strength, Agility, and Endurance, each of these core statistics can be trained at the Training page. Each statistic has it's own course on which the statistic can be trained. Strength is trained on the Rope Climbing course, Agility at the Shooting Range, and Endurance on the Obstical course. To train, click the picture of the corresponding statistic you want to train.
On the page that comes up you will be asked 'How much endurance would you like to use?', how much you train is up to you, but you can only train as much Endurance that you have. So say you have 15.3/16.3 endurence, this means you can only train 15 endurance this time (decimals cannot be trained), until you use the next Upgrade Chip. So type in how much you want to train and then click 'Start Training!'.
After this it will tell you either how much you have gained, or if the train was unsuccessful, it will tell you so.
Gaming Facility
The Gaming Facility is a page on RoboWars that can be very lucrative for you, or could be your very downfall. It has 3 different vices which you can profit from.
- The RoboWars Daily Poll
- The Question Of The Day
- The Robotica Slots
Each has a different way to earn scraps, each differing from the other. It is advised that you take part in the Daily Poll, and the Question Of The Day every day, whilst the Robotica Slots should be used at your own will.
Weapon Shop
As it's name suggests, the Weapon Shop is exactly that, a shop that sells weapons. Accepting Cash only, you can purchase only weapons here. It used to be that the Weapon Shop was also the outlet for the purchase of Armor, but this has changed with the introduction of the Armor Outpost. You can buy all but 1 weapon here, the Tunnel Rifle which is only obtainable through donation.
Prices range from $300 for the Used Fist Plate to $210,000 for the Nuclear Bomb.
Armor Outpost
The Armor Outpost has many similiarities to the Weapon Shop, well actually it is almost exactly the same except of course it sells Armor, and not Weapons. In the Armor Outpost you can purchase ALL of the Armors available in RoboWars, all you need is some Cash.
All of the items have the strength, level, and cash requirements listed individually, as well as the image of the armor. It also includes the name of the armor, defense stats, and how many times you have purchased that particular item.
Prices range from $250 for the Used Recycled Scraps Armor to $160,500 for the Cloak Armor.
Pawn Shop
The Pawn Shop is a place where you can sell your no longer wanted Weapons or Armors in exchange for either Cash or Scraps. It is simple to sell your item here, simply tick the circle next to the name of them item you want to sell, and then select whether or no you want Scraps or Cash.
Items can be sold for either Cash or Scraps, it is up to you to choose which one you want, both have there benefits.
If selling for Cash you will get back 66% of the original value of the item, an example is the Used Plasma Cannon which at the Weapon Shop costs $10,000, can be sold for $6,600 at the Pawn Shop.
Scraps is slightly more complicated, there are two factors that take place in working out the Pawn value. Firstly it has to be 66% of the original cost, as seen in a Cash Sale, but after that it needs to be converted to scraps, so the value is then multiplied by 10. An example is, using the Used Plasma Cannon again, $10,000 was it's original price, 66% of $10,000 x 10 = 66,000 Scraps. If you are mathematically mind you could skip this, and just say the Pawn Scrap value is 6.6 times the Original cost price.
There are numerous strategies when it comes to using the pawn shop, it is a good idea to familiarize your self with them.
The aptly named "Need Scraps Now" strategy is simple. Say you are killed in battle, you have no Upgrade Chip and all other ways of gaining scraps are used for the day. If you don't get scraps, you cannot heal and cannot battle. This can be overcomed by going to the Armor Outpost and buying a Used Recycled Scraps Armor, costing $250. Then returning to the Pawn Shop and pawning that exact item for scraps. The result will be that you have essentially turned into 1650 scraps. You can then take this to the mechanic and heal, or even take some of them to Scrap Yard and exchange them for Diamonds.
Robotica Bank
The Robotica Bank is a place for you to safely store all your Cash, plus it has added benefits. When you use your Upgrade Chip you will earn 2% interest on any cash you have in your bank account.
Scrap Yard
Scraps are readily available, through the Gaming Facility or through Battle, but you can only use Scraps to play the Robotica Slots, or if you need to heal. Otherwise they appear to be useless. This is where the Scrap Yard comes in, all your excess Scraps can be converted into Cash ($) or Diamonds, or even transfer to another player.
You can exchange your Scraps, at the Scrap Yard, for Cash at a rate of 15 Scraps to $1. This is significantly high, so you need to earn quite a bit of Scraps before it becomes of any value to you.
Diamonds are needed for you to heal if you are Destroyed, so if you need Diamonds at all you have to head to the Scrap Yard. Diamonds can be gained in exchange for 125 Scraps each. The are also used in the purchase of a squad.
Transferring scraps is a newly introduced feature that allows you to send or receive scraps from other members. There are requirements for transferring these funds however. Both the sender and the recipient must be online, and above level 25. There is also a cap on how much you can send in one transaction that is currently set at 250,000 scraps.
First you have to select which option you want, or what you want to get in exchange for your Scraps. Next to each option is a "Current Value" of your scraps. So next to the Scraps to Cash option, it will tell you how much Cash you will get if you exchange all your scraps.
You then must choose how many you want to exchange and then hit "Go".
Squad Zone
The Squad Zone is a page in RoboWars that is devoted entirely to Squads. Most notably is the list of ALL the Squads in RoboWars, listed by the Level of Squads, the highest level at the top, lowest at the bottom. From here you can browse the application pages of all the squads, these application pages have some information about the squad and what they offer. From then on, if you wish you can choose to apply to join a Squad, either through the squads application page, where a link to apply for the squad is found towards the bottom, or on the main list of squads, where a link to apply is found next to the Squad Name.
Once you are in a squad you can then get access to the Squads member only pages, this can also be done through the Squad Zone. A link to "Visit My Squad" can be found above the list of Squads, that is of course if you are in a squad. The Squad member only pages are fully customizable by the squads leaders and differ in what they have on offer.
If you want to try your hand at managing your own squad, you can purchase one. Firstly you must not be in a squad, and you must have the appropriate funds available. An option to Make a Squad can be found in the same place as the "Visit My Squad" link is usually found, just above the list of all the squads.
Ancient Wall
In a corner of Robotica stands the Ancient Wall, a wall that seems to have been around since the dawn of robot kind. Thought to be just a remnant of the past, had it not been for it's cultural and historic values.
It was not until the discovery of Gems and Objects in the Terrain that the true nature of the Ancient Wall became apparent.
It was discovered that the Ancient Wall has the ability to transform any three Gems or Objects of the same type into a Gem or Object of a higher rarity. This process of 'trading up' could lead you to acquire very rare items indeed.
Development
RoboWars was created in 2000 by afree Network Entertainment. After huge success and amazing community support, RoboWars released more and more updates which made new and improved versions of the game. It is currently at version 1.99b.
